Jewish director, producer, screenplay writer freelance filmmaker born in Warsaw, Poland. Studied philosophy at Warsaw University, film production at the Film School in Lódz, graduated from the Christian Theology Academy in Warsaw with a master's degree. 2000/01: a Kosciuszko Foundation scholarship holder in NYC - he did research and wrote a screenplay about the life and work of IB Singer; he also received a grant for that research from Polish Film Institute. His documentary "The Jews of Warsaw", 1997 was awarded in a Jewish film festival by Judah Magnes Museum in Berkeley, CA, USA in 1998. "Hannukah,a Double Time", (2000) was awarded during the Europe's Crossroads Festival in Lublin in 2003. He produced and directed short feature films based on his own screenplay: 'The Windows", 1996; "Misundestandings",1999; Not Enough, 2004, which was accepted by Academy Awards to the competition for Oscar Nomination found. He carries out his projects in his 'The Windows Film Studio". He is the originator and director of Warsaw Jewish Film Festival, whose first edition took place in 2003. www.wjff.pl He is the founder of KOLNOA-Israeli Film Festival Warsaw together with AL-SEENIMA Palestinian Film Day Warsaw www.kolnoa.pl , which took first edition in April'09. He is the founder and chairman of the Foundation for the Development of Jewish Culture in Poland. The Jewish Foundation supports Peace & Culture Center: Cinema Jenin project in Palestine. |
